🎬 PRODUCER GUIDE

StreamStage

StreamStage is a cloud-based live production dashboard that lets solo creators and small teams go live from your browser with scene switching, overlays, chat, and audio controls — all without needing OBS or complicated setup.

What is StreamStage?

StreamStage is the core production tool for It's Buzzing creators. Unlike Buzz Live (which embeds YouTube or Twitch streams), StreamStage is a native browser-based producer dashboard where your stream originates. You don't need OBS, capture cards, or external encoders — everything runs in your browser.

KEY DIFFERENCE FROM BUZZ LIVE

Buzz Live embeds a YouTube or Twitch stream into your It's Buzzing page — the stream originates elsewhere. StreamStage IS where your stream originates — you broadcast directly to It's Buzzing viewers, no external platform needed.

Quick Start (5 Steps)

Get live in under 5 minutes.

1

Create an It's Buzzing Account

Head to itsbuzzing.com/register and sign up with your email or social login. It takes 60 seconds.

2

Connect Your Stripe Account

Go to itsbuzzing.com/events/connect/onboard and authorize Stripe. This unlocks paid ticket sales, subscriptions, and merchandise — even if you don't use them yet.

3

Launch Your Stream

Visit itsbuzzing.com/streamstage and click "Go Live". Give your stream a title, pick your category, and enter the producer dashboard.

4

Set Up Your Scene

Add your camera, screen, or both. Test audio levels using the meter. The viewer window on the right shows exactly what your audience sees.

5

Share Your Stream URL

Copy your public watch link from the dashboard (something like itsbuzzing.com/watch/your-stream-id) and paste it to Twitter, Discord, or email. Start broadcasting.

Pro tip: Test your camera and mic before going live. Use the preview window in setup mode to confirm everything looks good.

The Producer Dashboard

When you're live, the StreamStage producer dashboard is your command center. Here's what you see and control:

SCENE SWITCHER

Click between your active scenes (camera, screen share, graphics, lower-thirds) with one tap. Scene names auto-populate based on the sources you've set up.

LIVE CHAT PANEL

View all incoming viewer messages in a vertical feed. Hover over a message to pin it, reply publicly, or timeout (mute) the user. Chat is always visible but can be collapsed to show more of the viewer panel.

AUDIO METERS

Visual bar graph for every audio input (microphone, system audio, music, guest audio). Peaks at -6 dB are ideal. Red warning lights up if you're clipping. Drag faders to adjust individual track levels in real time.

OVERLAY EVENTS

Click "Fire Overlay" to send polls, CTAs, sponsorship cards, or alerts to the viewer screen without interrupting your video feed. Overlays stay on screen for 5–30 seconds (configurable).

SESSION MARKERS

Tag important moments as you stream — click "Mark Highlight", "Mark Clip", "Mark Sponsor", "Mark Key Moment", or "Mark Reaction". These timestamps are saved and automatically extracted for your post-stream recap and BuzzClip library.

BUZZCLIP INTEGRATION

Use the Clip button to mark a 15–90 second segment during your stream. After your stream ends, BuzzClip auto-generates a short-form video and adds it to your media library (Twitter, TikTok, Instagram format). No manual editing required.

RTMP for External Tools

Advanced users can connect external broadcasting software (OBS, Streamlabs OBS, or Meta View for Ray-Ban glasses) directly to StreamStage using RTMP. This lets you leverage your existing gear or connect wearable cameras.

RTMP SERVER DETAILS

rtmp://live.itsbuzzing.com/live

Copy this server URL to your encoder settings (OBS Stream tab, Service = Custom).

STREAM KEY

<Your unique stream key from dashboard>

Found in the producer dashboard under "Encoder Setup". Keep it secret — anyone with it can broadcast to your channel.

COMPATIBLE WITH

  • OBS Studio (free, all platforms)
  • Streamlabs OBS (free, Windows/Mac)
  • Meta View App (Ray-Ban glasses)
  • Any RTMP-capable encoder (vMix, Wirecast, ffmpeg, etc.)

Why use external RTMP? You may want to broadcast from a complex setup with multiple cameras, a soundboard, or specialized hardware. StreamStage accepts RTMP feeds so you can use existing gear.

Post-Stream Automation

When you end your stream, StreamStage automatically generates content and reports. Everything is delivered to your Post-Stream Inbox within 5–10 minutes.

AI-GENERATED STREAM SUMMARY

Claude generates a 2–3 paragraph AI-written recap of your stream, highlighting key moments, guest names, topics, and calls-to-action. Use it for social posts or email newsletters.

NEWSLETTER DRAFT

An email template is auto-generated with your stream title, AI summary, replay link, and subscriber CTA. Copy it into your email platform (Brevo, ConvertKit, etc.) and send with one click.

SPONSOR RECAP REPORT

If you had sponsors, a branded recap is auto-generated showing reach, mentions, and performance metrics. Share with your sponsors for proof of promotion.

ACCESS YOUR INBOX

Visit itsbuzzing.com/live/<your-slug>/post-stream to see all post-stream artifacts. Recaps, drafts, and reports stay for 60 days.

FAQ

Do I need to download any software? +

No. StreamStage runs entirely in your browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge all work. If you want to use external encoders like OBS or Ray-Ban glasses, you'll connect via RTMP, but the StreamStage dashboard itself is browser-only.

Can I stream from my Ray-Ban Meta glasses? +

Yes. Use the Meta View app on your glasses, select "Custom RTMP", and paste the StreamStage RTMP URL + stream key. Your glasses feed goes live to all StreamStage viewers. Full setup guide: /help/glasses-setup.

What if my stream drops or disconnects? +

StreamStage auto-reconnects within 10 seconds. Viewers see a "reconnecting" status bar but the stream doesn't cut out. Your audio/video resumes seamlessly once the connection restores.

How do I add guests to my stream? +

From the producer dashboard, click "Invite Guest". A browser-based guest invite link is generated. Your guest clicks it from any device (phone, tablet, laptop) and joins your stream directly in their browser. No download needed. You can see and hear them, switch their feed to the viewer screen, and control their audio levels.

When do AI summaries and reports arrive? +

Within 5–10 minutes of ending your stream. Check your Post-Stream Inbox at itsbuzzing.com/live/<your-slug>/post-stream. AI summaries, newsletter drafts, and BuzzClip exports are all waiting there. Artifacts are archived for 60 days.
