Stream live video directly from your Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses to It's Buzzing using the Meta View app and custom RTMP settings. This guide walks you through credential generation, app configuration, and signal monitoring.
Before you start streaming from your glasses, make sure you have these three components ready:
Any model with live streaming support — Ray-Ban Stories 2nd gen or Meta Ray-Ban with the capture button and live broadcast feature enabled.
The Meta View app installed on your phone (iOS or Android). This is required to configure the RTMP destination and control your glasses remotely.
An active It's Buzzing account with StreamStage access. Log in at itsbuzzing.com to enable your streaming credentials.
Your RTMP credentials are unique per session. Generate them on the dedicated setup page, then send them to your phone or scan the QR code.
Here are the credentials you'll use to configure your glasses:
Security Note: Your stream key changes each session for security. Never share your stream key publicly. If you suspect it's been compromised, generate a new key immediately.
Once you have your RTMP credentials, configure your Ray-Ban glasses in the Meta View app:
Tip: The capture button is typically located on the front-right arm of your Ray-Ban glasses. Press and hold briefly to start recording/streaming.
On the glasses-setup page, you'll see a real-time signal indicator that tells you the status of your stream connection:
How it works: The signal check polls every 5 seconds. Wait about 10 seconds after starting your stream for the status to register on the dashboard.
Stream keys expire after 24 hours of inactivity. Generate a new key at itsbuzzing.com/live/glasses-setup and re-enter it in the Meta View app. If the issue persists, check that you're using "Custom RTMP" and not a platform preset.
Make sure you're using "Custom RTMP" in the Meta View app, not a platform preset (Instagram, Facebook). Platform presets use different authentication and won't work with our RTMP server. Also verify that the RTMP URL is exactly rtmp://live.itsbuzzing.com/live with no extra spaces or typos.
Your glasses stream through your phone's data connection. You need at least 5 Mbps upload speed. Check your phone's connection strength (WiFi or 5G). If you're on 4G LTE, try moving closer to a cell tower. For best results, use a stable WiFi network with a strong signal.
If "Send to Phone" doesn't deliver the SMS, use the QR code alternative on the setup page — scan it with your phone to copy credentials instantly. If you still have trouble, copy the credentials manually from the page.
The signal indicator on itsbuzzing.com/live/glasses-setup polls every 5 seconds. Wait 10 seconds after starting your stream for it to register. If the status still shows red, check that your stream key is correct and your glasses are actively streaming (not paused).
Still stuck? Contact support at itsbuzzing.com/contact or email [email protected] with your account email and stream key (without the key itself — just tell us the date/time you generated it).
Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses (2023+) with the capture button and Meta View app support custom RTMP streaming. The original Ray-Ban Stories (2021) are not compatible with custom RTMP. Check your glasses model in the Meta View app settings to confirm compatibility.
No, the Meta View app is required to configure the RTMP destination. It's a one-time setup per stream key. Once configured, you use the capture button on the glasses to start and stop streaming — the app stays in the background.
No. A new stream key is generated each session. For security, visit itsbuzzing.com/live/glasses-setup before each stream to get your fresh key. Old keys are automatically invalidated after 24 hours of inactivity.
Yes! Open itsbuzzing.com/live/glasses-setup on a second device (laptop, tablet, or another phone) to see the live signal status, viewer count, and stream health metrics in real-time while you're broadcasting.
